Gorgeous Distress Ink Background - Some Bunny

Hello!

I am thrilled to share Jung's card for today.  Her background is absolutely gorgeous!  Aren't Distress Inks just an amazing product?  If the card wasn't already amazing enough, it's also a shaker card!  For the starry background, Jung heat embossed the stars from the I Moose You set in silver to match the sentiment.

She then colored in the bunnies from the Some Bunny set with Copics and added them to the front of the shaker part.  She filled the shaker with sequins from the Snowflake Mix (our most popular mix).  I think this is an adorable card that would be perfect for Valentine's Day!

Have a great weekend,
Tracy

Creating A Sympathy Card

Hello!

Happy Thursday everyone!  It's one day closer to Friday.  Woohoo!

Today I'm sharing a a sympathy card idea.  These are always the hardest cards to make and ones that we never want to have to make.  The Thoughts and Prayers set combined with the Sunny Day set makes it simple and easy to do so.

Watch here || Watch on YouTube

I heat embossed the flat-bottomed clouds on a piece of watercolor card stock and then watercolored the background with Distress Inks.  I also heat embossed the sentiment on a piece of vellum and cut it out.

I popped up the sentiment with clear foam squares and tied a piece of twine around the top of the card.  The last step was to add a few of the Cloudy Day Sequins.  A quick and easy sympathy card.  You could also create it with a different sentiment from the Thoughts and Prayers set.  There are so many different options.

Have a great day!

Moosed your Birthday

Hello!

I love the versatility of the I Moose You stamp set.  Most of the samples we have shown are Valentine's Day cards, but today Lisa created a belated birthday card with it.  She colored in the tree and moose images and then stamped the sentiment and tiny embellishment stamps in the speech bubble.  How awesome!

I also can't fail to mention how awesome the envelope is!  She decorated it with the Happy Mail set and the colors match the card perfectly.  Don't forget, a pretty envelope is a happy envelope!

Have a great day!

4 Cards by Cassie

Hello!

Cassie is joining us on the blog today and she created 4 amazing cards!  I am so excited that everyone has loved this released and picked up these stamps for themselves.  Remember that they can be used for many other occasions besides Valentine's Day.

How about giving this card to a friend who has helped you out or is just there for you when you need them.  I love how she created the rainbow of mushrooms and stamped the sentiment in the speech bubble.  She also created her own background with the heart stamps that come in the My Deer set.

I love this card!  I think it is so creative to think outside the box and color in the moose from I Moose You with different colored watercolors.  If you are a watercoloring newbie, this card would be perfect for you to recreate!

The last set of cards she created show off how amazing her coloring is!  She stamped the entire background of bunnies from the Some Bunny set and colored them in with Copics.  Just incredible!

Have a great day!

Some Bunny Loves You

Hello!

Jung is back on the blog today with another stunning card!  She heat embossed the hearts from the Happy Mail set with white embossing powder and then watercolored over them.  Who would have thought how well the Happy Mail and Some Bunny sets go together?!?!

She used the bunny hugging the heart from Some Bunny and popped it up on top of a white die cut circle.  I love the touch of black and white that was also added to the card.

How to Make A Baby Shaker Card (Video Tutorial)

Hello!

It's Tracy here with a video tutorial for you!  I love shaker cards, so I thought I would share how to create a shaker card with our stamps and sequins.  I hope you enjoy the video!

Watch here || Watch on YouTube

I stamped my own background with the flower image in a light gray color.  I also inked the edges with the Tumbled Glass Distress Ink to help define the edges.  For the inside of the shaker card, I added the Blue Blossoms mix.  This mix is perfect for shaker cards because it has sequins and beads.
I colored in both the bundled owl and cat images from the Bundles of Joy set to add to the card.  Two animals is always better than one!  I added in a few of the flower sequins onto the outside of the card.

Happy Wednesday!

Lisa is joining us on the blog today was a soft and pretty card using the Some Bunny stamp set.  I love how delicate the watercoloring looks!  This card would be perfect for a Mother's Day or Father's Day card.  It would even work well for a baby card.  The possibilities are endless!

The white on white clouds and card base just add one more detail to the card that make it perfect!

Have a wonderful day!

You're Deer To Me

Hello!

We have a card from Cassie on the blog today and it's like she read my mind on how I pictured the My Deer set being used.  She stamped one deer, masked it off, and stamped another one.  She then stamped antlers on one and the spots on the other.  I love how she added the little bit of green grass to the bottom.

The gold sequins really frame the images and draw your eye in.  I just love everything about this card!

I love how she stamped the bunnies from Some Bunny on the gray polka dot patterned paper.  Those stamped ombre hearts in the corner are also amazing!  Ombre is one of my favorite looks!

The red heart sequins from the Hearts and Kisses Mix also add a little sparkle onto the card.  Such a nice touch!

You're Deer to Me

 Happy Friday!

We have the talented Jung on the blog today with a gorgeous card!  I just want to take a moment to look at the coloring of those trees from the My Deer set.  Do you see how she colored the tree trunks to have a woodgrain texture?  Amazing!  I also love how she added the white gel pen dots onto the deer.

The watercolor background creates a dreamy scene that makes this the perfect Valentine's Day card.  She also added a few of the 6mm Gold Sequins that go perfectly with the background.

Bundles of Joy Card

Hello!

Today I have a video tutorial to share using the Bundles of Joy stamp set.  This is one of my favorite stamp sets because it seems like I am constantly making new baby cards for my friends.  The critters are adorable and so fun to color!

Watch here || Watch on YouTube

I created the subtle background with white embossing paste and a stencil.  I then stamped the floral circle with the Stitched Circle die from Simon Says Stamp in a light yellow ink.  I stamped, colored, and fussy cut the roses and cow image.

I just love how all of the sentiments fit right into the banner stamp!  I couldn't resist adding a few sequins from the Snowflake mix.

Some Bunny is Thinking of You

 Welcome, crafty friends!

It's Lisa turn on the blog today and she made the cutest card with the Some Bunny set!  She stamped the larger and smaller flowers in the top right hand corner and colored them in beautifully.  She then used the spots as berries and leaves from the My Deer set.  How creative is that?

I love how she added the soft shadow under the bunny.  It's those little details that make the card!  I can't forget about the shiny sequins from the Electric mix that she also added.  Such a fun card!

Some Bunny Loves You

Hello!

Cassie is joining us today with a bright and springy card!  She created her background with the large flower in the Some Bunny set.  I love the pink, orange, and yellow color palette she used!

She then stamped the two bunnies within the scalloped circle and watercolored them in.  The watercolor really softens the card and gives it a nice touch!

A Moose Shaker Card

Hello!

Hold on to your hats, crafty friends because Jung has a card that will blow you away!  She used the I Moose You set to create an adorable shaker card.  I love the ombre background with the splatters to make it look like a wintery night sky.

She cut off the antlers of one of the moose to make it a female. Genius!  I can't forget to add that the sequins she added into the shaker are from the Hearts and Kisses Mix.

I hope you are as inspired by this card as I am!  Stop by the shop to pick up your stamps and sequins so you can recreate this amazing card!

It Moose Be Love

Hello!

Cassie is joining us the blog today and sharing a fun shaker card!  I love how she stamped part of the sentiment and used die cut letters or stickers to make the "moose" stand out.

Her coloring of the moose from the super popular I Moose You set is fantastic and the depth she creates really makes him come to life.  For the "shaker" part of the card, she combined the Hearts and Kisses Mix with the Chocolate Truffle mix.  Such a great idea that makes for an adorable card!

Introducing the Design Team

Hello!

We are going to start 2016 off with a *bang* and introduce our new design team!  I invited some very talented ladies to the team that are going to inspire you with all of our stamps and embellishments.  Speaking of those, we have some amazing new releases that you can be excited for!  I am bursting at the seams and cannot wait to share everything this year has in store for Mint Owl Studio!

Please give a warm welcome to the new Mint Owl Studio Design Team:

Hi, my name is Lisa Lahiff and I am married to my college sweetheart, a mommy of two and a paper crafter lover of all kinds! I was first introduced to scrapbooking in 2005, and then when I became a stay at home mom in 2008, I discovered card making and blogging all at the same time. I’ve been hooked ever since! I tend to create with a more CAS design, but I love experimenting with everything! I have had the honor of being published in several print publications including PaperCrafts Magazine and CardMaker Magazine, as well as in online magazines such as Scrap N Art Magazine. I feel so blessed to be a part of this amazing crafting community, and love the encouragement, learning and friendship that come along with it.

Hi, my name is Jung AhSang, and I live in Texas with my high school sweetheart husband, our two beautiful girls, and our dorkie (dachshund & yorkie mix) named Emma.  I started card-making when my husband got me a sizzix die cutting machine for my birthday in March 2015, and I have been obsessed ever since!  I've always been a paper crafter though; I started scrapbooking in high school, and I still love it!  I also love photography, books, coffee, makeup, online crafty shopping, and the tv series FRIENDS (I probably watch at least one episode every day, ha!)  I love to play with color, but can't get enough of a good white card stock.  I look forward to learning more techniques, and growing as a paper crafter.

My name is Cassie and I've been a paper crafter for over ten years! I'm currently going to school in the hopes of becoming an author someday. I love all things creative, crafty and colorful. Writing and crafts are just some of my hobbies, a few others are watercolors and baking!

Hello Mint Owl Studio fans! My name is Jess Gerstner and I’m so excited to be able to work with these awesome stamps! I live in New Jersey and work as an elementary school teacher. My mom introduced me to crafts at a young age but papercrafting was the one that truly stuck. I’m now an avid stamper and I love to color with a variety of mediums and try out new techniques. I love to share my knowledge through video so be on the lookout for regular video tutorials explaining my process and techniques. My style tends toward clean and cute.

These ladies will be helping me provide endless inspiration through social media, blog posts, and even YouTube videos!

I hope everyone has a wonderful New Year's Day!
-Tracy
